TREMA
Total Resistance Measurement of Insulating Properties Measurement Device for the Total Resistance of Insulating Coatings
The TREMA measurement instrument should be used for determining of the total resistance of protecting layers on carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) surfaces. To avoid galvanic corrosion the resistance of the CFRP surface must reach a high value. There is no technology so far available to determine the total resistance value of the CFRP surface.
This measurement device was developed to determine the total resistance, which is not only a pure ohmic resistance. For the evaluation of the quality of an insulating coating on carbon fiber composites, it is not only necessary to determine the ohmic resistance of a coating, but also the influence of the electrochemical reactions at the carbon fiber structure with a layer of resin or an additional coating.
The TREMA measures values of total resistance between < 106 Ω*cm2 and 1010 Ω*cm2.
